If you are planning to put your house on the market, there are several things you can do to help your home sell faster. Put yourself in the shoes of a potential buyer and think about what areas in your home could use a little sprucing up. Simple upgrades and changes can go a long way in helping your home show better so it appeals to buyers. Consider these easy swaps to give your house a boost and help it sell faster.

1) Swap out the Light Fixtures

You don’t need to remodel your entire bathroom or kitchen when you are selling your home. Something as simple as changing out the light fixtures can really make a statement and bring your home up to date. Swap out fixtures over the kitchen island and kitchen table, the dining room table, and above the vanity in the bathrooms. You should also swap out outdated fixtures in the hallways and on the front porch.

2) Swap Out Cabinet Hardware

A full kitchen remodel can be costly but you can give your kitchen cabinets a whole new look with update handles and pulls. Changing out the cabinet hardware in your kitchen and bathrooms is an easy project that can be done in a weekend.

3) Swap Out Ceiling Fans

An old outdated ceiling fan can be an eyesore and can take away from the overall look and design of the room. You can easily upgrade the look of your room by swapping out old ceiling fans with something a little more modern.

4) Swap Out Outlet and Lightswitch Plates

Chances are some of us are guilty of having those old beige faceplates on our outlets and lightswitches. They stand out and really show their age. This is one of the easiest and cheapest swaps you can make but will help your home show better and appeal to buyers.

5) Swap Out Fixtures

Door knobs, faucets, hinges, and locks are fairly easy to replace and won’t cost nearly as much as a remodel. Buyers will notice your fixtures so make sure they match the decor in your home and they are up to date. You can really make a statement and improve the overall look of the space by swapping out fixtures.

6) Swap Out Drapes and Window Treatments

Dreary drapes and bent mini-blinds will not help your home sell faster. Remove outdated drapes and window treatments and replace broken or bent mini-blinds to refresh the windows in your home. Choose drapes that are neutral and sheer so they let in as much natural light as possible.

7) Swap Out the Front Door

Your front door is the main focal point of your home’s exterior so make a good first impression with a beautiful entryway. If it’s not in your budget to replace the door, you can still update the look with a fresh coat of paint.
