The portable on-site storage market is more popular than ever and offers storage solutions for businesses, industrial site owners, retailers, contractors, and homeowners. However, for those who aren’t familiar with the ins and outs of mobile storage, they might stumble upon a few myths while trying to uncover the facts.  To better understand the benefits of portable storage, here is just a short list clarifying some of the most common myths about mobile storage companies.

Myth #1: Portable storage containers are all the same.

Fact:  All portable storage containers are not created equal.  Smartbox units are delivered clean and ready to use. Our units are conveniently sized, easier to pack and equipped with better maneuverability.  The structure is made of wood which allows the units to breathe. This protects your belongings from mold and mildew. The custom exterior cover provides added protection against elements. Your belongings will actually remain much cleaner when stored in a portable container.

Myth#2: Portable storage containers are only useful if you are moving.

Fact: While our portable storage units certainly are useful during the moving process, there are dozens of other reasons to rent a portable unit.  They are ideal for homeowners who are undergoing a renovation and need a place to store their belongings during the project.  They are perfect for college students who have to move out of their dorm for the summer and don’t want to clutter Mom and Dad’s garage with all of their stuff.  They provide on-site storage for contractors and builders where they can conveniently store tools and materials during a project.  They are great for businesses that need a little extra storage for office furniture, files, or other materials.  As it turns out, portable storage units offer solutions for a variety of needs.

Myth #3: Portable storage containers are very expensive.

Fact: Renting a mobile unit is much more cost effective than hiring professional movers.  In fact, professional moving companies can cost hundreds of dollars more than renting a unit. Our pricing for local moves includes a month of rental time for the units, delivery and pickup.
