When it comes to moving, everyone could use a few tips to help make the process as easy as possible.  It is easy to get so exhausted and frustrated with the whole process that you cut corners or just start throwing things in boxes to get the job done.  However, it will end up causing you more stress when it comes time to unpack. It is so much better to stay organized, plan ahead, and do things the right way.  Luckily, we have you covered with some great moving hacks that will help your entire move be as smooth as possible.

Ingenious Packing Hacks

Let’s face it…no one likes packing.  It is probably one of the most dreaded parts of the whole moving process.  The good news is you can save money, time, and hassle with these brilliant packing hacks.

*While your clothes are still hanging in the closet, put them inside a trash bag.  They will saty neatly hung and unpacking will be a breeze!

*Ask local businesses and retailers for boxes and save a TON of money!

*Put stemware and glasses inside socks for extra padding.

*Put jewelry in egg cartons to keep everything organized and prevent necklaces from tangling.

* Place Styrofoam plates in between dishes to prevent them from breaking.

*Use a box cutter to create handles for your boxes.

Amazing Organizational Hacks

Moving can sometimes feel like utter chaos, but these awesome hacks will keep you organized every step of the way!

*Use colored packing tape to keep your boxes organized by room.

*Place numbers on each box that corresponds with an inventory list.  You can put the list in an excel document that keeps track of which items are in which box.  This is a lifesaver when you are looking for a particular item.

*Snap a picture of the back of your TV and other electronic devices so you can remember which wires go where when you are setting up in your new home.

*Pack an “Essentials Box” including clothing, toiletries, medications, and any other must-have items that you will need right away.

Moving Day Hacks

Moving day has finally arrived and everyone is frantically trying to load trucks, pack last minute boxes, and clean the old house.  With so much going on it can be easy to forget about some important things.  Here are a few moving day hacks that will keep everyone on track.

*Load a snack bin with water, protein bars, crackers, or whatever else you will need to stay fueled and hydrated throughout the day.

*Keep Fido happy by placing his food and water in a similar room as you did in the old house.  Consistency will help prevent pets from becoming too anxious.

*Buy cereal, milk, and disposable bowls, plates, and cutlery so you will have something easy to eat the morning after the move.

*Keep important cards in your pocket on moving day including your ID, social security card, and wallet.

*Order some pizza and take a breather when the day is done!
